Danielle Livoti — After the Storm

September 1 – October 18, 2026

Artist statement

“After the Storm” (currently on view at 317 Main, Farmingdale, NY) explores the quiet transformation that follows upheaval, those moments when clarity begins to emerge from uncertainty. My work takes a diaristic approach to exploring interconnectivity, using layers of paint, collage, drawing, and personal ephemera to archive my lived experience.

Influenced by words collected in my journals and artifacts gathered over time, I build surfaces that conceal and reveal through both excavation and illumination.

As text dissolves into expressive marks and transparent veils of color, memory becomes atmosphere. Birds, celestial forms, and abstract passages emerge as symbols of resilience, renewal, and the unseen forces that connect us.

The process of art making itself becomes an act of reflection, allowing me to make sense of my experiences while seeking a deeper understanding of our shared humanity.

“After the Storm” invites viewers to pause, look closely, and discover beauty in what gradually comes into view.

Artist bio

Danielle Livoti is a fine artist and art educator with over 18 years of teaching experience at the secondary level in public education on Long Island. She received her BFA in Art Education from LIU Post in 2007, followed by her MA in Studio Art from New York University in 2010.

While being an educator is one of her most rewarding experiences, Danielle's personal artistic practice is something she is incredibly passionate about. In 2020 she was selected to exhibit in the Long Island Biennial at the Heckscher Museum, after which she participated in numerous artist talks and panel discussions supporting the exhibit.

Danielle has been consistently exhibiting works since then to support local Long Island art galleries such as Spotlight Gallery, Firefly Artists, Christensen Gallery, East End Arts, Alfred Van Loen Gallery, most recently Kasher Gallery in Northport. You can also find her work this summer in both Heckscher Park in Huntington and Phelps Lane Park in North Babylon as part of the LIPAF.

Danielle resides in Brightwaters, NY where she is working on bringing more opportunities to engage with the arts to her community with the Brightwaters Art Council, of which she is President.

Every work is for sale. Ask your server, or email info@coloredcolors.com.

About

317 Main Street is a Chopped champion's kitchen and one of Long Island's most decorated restaurants. In 2026 they brought us in to put artists on their walls — not decoration, but curated exhibitions matched to the room.

Our first show was Andres Gallardo Jr., whose collection of culinary legends was curated specifically for the space. It opened in March, ran longer than scheduled, and closed with a free Meet the Artist night. The second exhibition is up now, with a third scheduled to close the year.

How it works

Colored Colors selects the artists, curates each collection, handles artist agreements, and hosts the opening nights.
